Collectible Action Figures - Is About Fun Memories And More Money
by dorothy lovelace - Thursday, March 20 2008, 01:37 AM
Anyone in the world

By Royce Armstrong Superhero action figures first stormed the doors of department stores and toy stores nearly 35 years ago. Constructed of various kinds of plastic and clothed in uniforms, costumes and capes G.I. Joe, Superman, Spiderman, the Lone Ranger and others marched, flew and rode off store shelves and into our lives. After short stops under the Christmas tree or at birthday parties, these action figures found their way into toy boxes and playrooms around the world. These action figures did their superhero work of incredible feats, saving scores of lives and neutralizing villains. They accomplished these heroic deeds on lazy summer afternoons and rainy Saturday mornings in front of the TV set. Too often, they also needed our help after school when we were supposed to be doing homework. These superheroes were always our friends and they helped us through our childhoods. They taught us to share, to value friendships and that good will triumph over evil. Perhaps, most importantly, they stretched our imaginations and made us believe that anything was possible. These mighty action figures were invincible to everything but time. Time finally did them in. Or did it? For more and more people, these action figures are returning to superhero status. The Star Trek crew along with Power Rangers, the Star Wars characters and transformers are popping up in offices, dens and family rooms everywhere. These action figures have become collectibles. The most popular of these action figures include G.I. Joe, Captain Action, the Six Million Dollar Man, the Lone Ranger and the Mego line of action figures. These include characters from Super Heroes, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, Happy Days, CHIPs, Monsters and others. There were literally hundreds of different action figures produced during the decades of the 70s and 80s. The action figures come in different sizes. Just as with other collectibles, size, condition, original popularity and whether or not the figure is readily available now all come together to determine price. Prices are all over the board. Some of these figures have been known to sell for thousands of dollars. Others go for a few hundred. Most are in the $10 to $100 range. Action Figures Make Great Collectibles How do you know what to pay? There are a number of sources for current price information for these action figures. One important source is toy magazines such as Toyfare and Lees Action Figure News. There are also dozens of websites that have pricing information. More good sources are the online auction sites, such as eBay. The auction websites are also great places to buy these action figures. Numbers of these toys are sold on these sites every day. You can determine the condition, see what other people are bidding and then make a bid. The top online auctions are safe places to do business. These action figures crop up in other places as well, just waiting for the opportunity to march into your collection. You can find them in flea markets and sometimes in antique shops. You can buy them from other collectors, at garage sales and estate auctions. There are dozens of toy shows around the country where dealers and individuals buy and sell collections. You will find these action figure toys in every conceivable condition from mint in the box condition to pieces of the original toy. There is a rating system to help collectors determine condition that runs from condition C-1 through C-10. The very best condition is mint in box or mint on card. These toys are in the original box or bubble wrap card. They are in exactly the same condition today as the day they were first packaged. They are, of course, the most valuable. One of the first steps in collecting action figures is to decide which toys to collect. A good place to start is with your favorites when you were a kid. Collections will be more valuable if you have complete sets. For example, you might build a collection of a complete set of the Marvel Comics heroes. Part of the fun is putting these collections together acquiring hard-to-find figures in a set. The next step is taking care of your collection of action figures. If you are lucky enough to find a toy sealed in the original box or package, leave it in the box. Do not open it. Display your toys on a shelf or in a cabinet where they will be kept dry, out of direct sunlight. You will also need to keep these toys above the reach of your own youngsters. They will be just as tempted to play with them as you were. Finally, enjoy your collection. Owning these action figure superheroes will bring back many of the wonderful feelings of those carefree days before mortgage payments and college tuition bills. The dollar value of your collection is likely secondary to assembling the collection and enjoying its aesthetic value. Even so, your collection will almost certainly become more valuable in time, especially if you can assemble entire sets. These action figure superheroes are reminders of your childhood and will serve to tell your children and grandchildren a little about whom you are and how you learned that good triumphs over evil. Somehow it is comforting to know that Superman, G.I. Joe and the Lone Ranger are still fighting crime and saving lives. Sex and the Single Christian
by dorothy lovelace - Sunday, March 16 2008, 06:38 PM
Anyone in the world

By Sonya Triggs What does it mean to be Christian and single? In the best case scenario, it means living a life devoted to God, going to church regularly, fellowshipping with your friends and being a good friend, daughter, brother, mother, father, etc. And - let's not forget that all-important caveat - being celibate. It's a not-so-well-kept secret, however, that most single Christians are not - celibate that is. Most of us seem to have 'periods' of celibacy - lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a few years and then find ourselves falling right back off the wagon for a (temporary) fix. I have had my seasons of celibacy, watched my friends in their seasons and seen celebrities proclaim they will enter marriage a 'virgin'. And, what do most of us have in common? We fail, fail and fail again. (And hats off to those who have been celibate, remain celibate or enter marriage as a virgin.) Let's face it - once you have had sex (and enjoyed it), it's really, really hard to go back to that pre-knowledge state. Where sex was an idealized fantasy and you would find true love (or, at the very least - release) and it would all fade out into a pleasantly fuzzy happily ever after. And then you wake up. Once you cross that line, you realize that you will never be the same. You feel a combination of remorse and (this is what always trips you up) curiosity. Was that as good as it gets? Or - wow, that was even better than I thought it would be! Should I try again to be celibate or does this mean it's over? Well, I didn't immediately go to Hell, so maybe....just maybe...I can get away with this. And you do. Time and again. Until it almost becomes easier just to continue having sex than go through all the trauma of trying to give it up. To date someone and spend long sessions at his house or yours instead of having long walks in the park. To just stop thinking about it and put it up on the shelf of 'I'll deal with it...one day.' Just not today, right? I am not here to preach to you, to tell you right from wrong or any of that stuff (and I'm sure you know all the same bible scriptures I do about remaining celibate). And the simple truth of the matter is that all Christians fall short in one way or another. We lie, we cheat, we are gluttons, we are judgmental - just take your pick. So, it's awfully hard to point the finger at someone else when we are not exactly shining examples of clean vessels ourselves. Sometimes I think a whole lot more good would be done in the Body of Christ if we were all just a little more understanding of one another instead of the way we are now. But I digress... So, if the above describes you, do what we all find ourselves doing - pray. Ask for forgiveness. Learn from your mistakes. And maintain your relationship with God at all costs. And you will be saved. Accomplish All Your Desires With Low Interest Secured Loans
by dorothy lovelace - Friday, March 14 2008, 12:08 PM
Anyone in the world

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Taylor]Peter Taylor Once when I had to borrow money, I decided to take a loan. There were many different loans in the market, but with relatively high interest rates. It actually disappointed me because paying such a high rate of interest was beyond my financial capacity. But, when I came to know about low interest secured loans, I was filled with joy. I got the opportunity to avail the most competitive, fast and low rate loan. Low interest secured loans offer highly alluring loan packages. They offer loans at relatively low interest rates. They are secured against collateral such as an automobile, equity in home or any other property. If you place a high value collateral, you can surely draw a larger loan amount at a lower interest rate. The credit score of the borrower is an important factor in determining the interest rate and monthly installments payable on the loan. Having a bad credit score does not mean that one should be deprived of certain basic necessities. If you are a bad debtor, but you are able to win the trust of the loan provider and you promise to repay on time, there are lenders who can give you loans at quite a reasonable rate. The borrower should never forget that the lender has the authority to seize his property if the repayments are not made on time. Low interest secured loans can serve a number of purposes such as debt consolidation, making home improvements, investing in business, going out for a holiday, or meeting wedding expenses. Before looking out for a loan, one has to be fully aware of the various sources available. Traditional lenders such as banks and other financial institutions dealing in low interest secured loans exist in the market. Approaching such physical lenders can be a headache. One has to go through different formalities so as to qualify for the loan. It also involves lot of documentation work. Facing these situations can put you in utter chaos. Nowadays, the online method of applying for a loan is preferable. Varieties of lenders offering low interest secured loans appear online. These lenders work hard to prepare a healthy agreement for the borrower. You can also collect loan quotes from different lenders and compare them in order to determine the best deal. However, the borrower should remember that interest rate is not the only criteria in deciding the most appropriate deal. Loan term and monthly installments are equally important. In case any confusion strikes the mind of the borrower, he can seek advice from an online loan advisor. After deciding the best deal, you can proceed further by filling the online loan application form and submitting it then and there. Hence, low interest secured loans are capable of providing you loans at considerably lower interest rates. If you make a judicious use of the loan you can fulfill all your personal desires. It is an ideal option for bad debtors as it can help them improve the credit score. Peter Taylor is a senior financial analyst at easyfinance4u with an acumen for finance and insurance. Window Greenhouse For the Gardener With Limited Space
by dorothy lovelace - Tuesday, March 11 2008, 10:51 AM
Anyone in the world

By Paul Wonning The aspiring greenhouse grower who may not have the budget or space for a detached greenhouse, or the proper place for a lean to does not have to despair. A window greenhouse may be just what the doctor ordered. This type of greenhouse is just what it implies, it transforms a window of the home into a plant growing area. There are some requirements for a window greenhouse. First of all, the window should face predominately south. A southeast or southwest exposure would work, but a north exposure would doom the grower to only some tropical plants and African Violets. And these would probably not get enough light in the dark winter months. There are three types of window greenhouse options available to the gardener. An exterior, glass or plexi-glass covered box installed over the window itself. A custom made window replacement, or clear glass shelves hung inside the window for the plants to grow on. Any one of these should fit your situation. The exterior glass window greenhouse is the most common. This can be home made, using molding for framework, if desired. If you are handy with tools, or have a friend who is, this type of greenhouse is an interesting project to build. There are kits available, also, which may suit better if you are not the handy type. This type of window greenhouse cannot be used with casement windows, as the windows would not open after it is installed. Heat for this greenhouse can come from the house itself, as the window can be opened a crack to allow heat from the house to infiltrate. A small electric heater could also be used. When the greenhouse is designed, be sure to make some provision for ventilation. The top and bottom should both be hinged to allow them to open and let air rise through it on warm, sunny days. Or place a small fan in it and blow the heat back into the home. Custom made replacement windows are another option. This would be the expensive route. Measurements must be carefully made, and installation is definitely for a professional carpenter. The third option is to just have some glass shelves made from a glass sheet. Shelf supports installed along each side of the window will hold the shelves securely, providing a wonderful place to grow plants. A window greenhouse can allow gardeners who lack the space or need for a full fledged greenhouse. There are a number of options, providing an answer for just about every need. 2006

Business Loans: The SBA Loan Program

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robert_Cash]Robert Cash If either you are starting a new business or trying to update an existing one, you will most likely need a source of funds to do so. If you are not able to fund it yourself, you will find yourself in a position of having to apply for a business loan. Most American entrepreneurs consult with the SBA for that purpose. SBA stands for Small Business Administration and was created to assist small to medium American entrepreneurs. It not only helps in getting your finances organized but it also provides advice to small and medium companies. In case you need a business loan, the SBA can also help you getting the funding from a partner financial institution. Although the SBA does not provide business loans directly, it can put you in the right track and help mediate the proceedings. If you own a small business you can apply for an SBA guaranteed business loan. If you want this loan to be approved there are certain conditions that need to be followed. Those conditions range from the nature of your business, to the purpose of the business loan, the guarantee fee, the maturity period and your business size. If you are serious about getting your business loan with the help of the SBA, it is better that you gather the most amount of information that you can, to guarantee you meet all the requirements for the said business loan. Consulting with your bank can also be a good idea. You know you will need a lender for this endeavor and you will need to inform him/them of all your companies activities, profits and losses. It can happen that the lender approves your loan right away. In the case the lender refuses your application, than you can ask him to provide you with an SBA application form. That form should be completely filled and forwarded to the SBA. The process of getting a business loan through the SBA is not has difficult as it seems, all you have to do is follow all the steps the entities give you. For your convenience, here follows a small list of documents that are required when requesting a business loan: -Profit and loss statement and Balance sheet for the past 3 years. -Income tax returns for the past 3 years. -Filled loan application form. (This form must be completely filled) -Cash flow projections for one year. -History of business and how a statement on how an SBA approved loan would help the business. -Clear personal credit history. - Personal financial statement. -Cover letter and resume of the participating owners. -Certificate of doing business. -Business lease papers. Do not forget to put all your efforts in getting your business loan. Your determination will be as important in getting your business loan as the viability of your business itself. Wheelchair Egress From Multi-Story Buildings
by dorothy lovelace - Sunday, March 9 2008, 06:45 AM
Anyone in the world

By Robin Kettle On my many access audit visits up and down the country (UK) I have undertaken DDA audits in many multi storey buildings. As a disabled person and a DDA auditor (Disability Discrimination Act) I am greatly concerned about the DDA recommendations of areas of safe refuge within multi-story buildings. The DDA states that such building should have areas of safe refuge for those unable to manage the stairs in the event of an evacuation.
OK Fine so far. This surely is assuming the emergency is a fire and those in the safe refuge area will assumable be rescued relatively quickly by the fire department if management does not/can not! I personally do not have a problem with this assuming the safe refuge area has been checked thoroughly but and the big but is would you be happy to remain in an area of safe refuge in a large building if the emergency was say a Bomb Scare? Would it not be better that the DDA regulation is to have Evac chairs in all multi-story buildings with staff fully equipped to use them? Food for thought wouldn't you say? As a wheelchair user I fully agree that we should be able to have access to most reasonable public buildings, however as an access auditor I feel if we cant get out of the building safely, we should not be going in it, at least not until those responsible have addressed all issues including egress. Finally my advice to disabled people is: When entering a building think about how you will get out in an emergency as well as how you will get in. www.access-auditing.com www.ableize.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Robin_Kettle http://EzineArticles.com/?Wheelchair-Egress-From-Multi-Story-Buildings&id=431151 restirol vs ambien ambien experiences cheap zolpidem stillnox ambien picture about

Giving Your Garden Plants The Best Chance For Success
by dorothy lovelace - Saturday, March 8 2008, 06:05 AM
Anyone in the world

By Lee Dobbins When planting garden plants there are many things to consider in order to end up with lush thriving plants and a great looking garden. The color of the flowers, the bloom time and the overall garden design are all a big part of this but, perhaps, the most important thing to consider is the amount of sun the plant needs. When you are choosing your plants, youll notice that the type of lighting is marked clearly either in the catalog or in a tag on the plant itself if you are shopping locally. These tags will indicate either partial shade, full shade or full sun. If you want your plants to look their best, you really need to plant them in a spot that gets the right amount of sun. If your plant needs full sun this means that you need to plant it in a garden spot that gets at least six hours of direct sunlight during the day. That means sun that is not filtered by any type of shading like a canopy of tree leaves or other plants. If it needs partial shade then the sun can be filtered and plants that require shade can be planted in shady areas where they will do well but dont try to plant them in the full sun as they will die off. Sometimes the tags will say something like - full sun to partial shade - and such is the case with the Foxglove. If you plan it in a partially shady area it will do well but since it prefers full sun it will do better the more sunny the area is. If you give it a spot with enough water and where the soil is warm enough this beautiful plant will yield flowers the whole summer long. In addition to planting them in the proper place, your garden plants need plenty of food and water. Particularly when gardening in full sun, the moisture levels in your soil are very important. Fertilization is food for your plants and they have certain requirements particularly for nitrogen and phosphorus and some soils simply do not provide enough so you need to give them added fertilizer. Fertilization should not be difficult and you can get the proper fertilizer at your local garden center. A good liquid fertilizer should work fine and just follow the directions for the size of pot or type of plant. If you have a very large garden you may want to consider buying manure from a local farm or purchasing it at your garden center which you can usually find in bags of 50 pounds or less. Just spread it out directly on the soil or mix it in if you havent yet planted. Most plants like to be watered every day particularly in the heat of summer but as the weather gets a little cooler you can go with every other day. Make sure the soil is moist but with no standing water. Of course there are many types of plants that dont need a lot of water such as cacti and other succulents. These plants store water inside the stems and have few leaves so water loss is minimal. Other popular garden plants like pansies and irises lose moisture through their many leaves and flowers so need to get their moisture through soil every day. Yarrow, Verbena and Aloe do not need so much water and there are other types of vine like plants such as Bougainvillea and Wisteria that will not need excessive watering either. Planting your garden plants in the right area and providing them with the right food and water throughout the growing season will help yield a lush vibrant garden that you can be proud of and have fun puttering around in! Matt, Help Me Lose 43lbs
by dorothy lovelace - Thursday, March 6 2008, 04:54 AM
Anyone in the world

By Matt Shuebrook Matt, I am a 15 year old boy, about 5 ft4/5 and weigh about 168 pounds.
I want to get down to 125 pounds but dont know how. I dont really eat that much, just the same as everyone else. For the last 3 months I have been going in the gym, 3 times a week. I have been doing 30 minutes on the bike completing about 11 km. I also do 10 minutes on the rower and row just under 2000 meters. I havent lost weight at all. Should I do more. my gym has a rower, bike,
treadmill, step machine and weights. What do you think I should go on and for how
long? Thanks Matt! Ben you are at a special age in your life. When I was a little kid I was in tip top shape, but as I grew older I got fat. By the age of 12 I gained about 70 lb. I was about 5 feet tall and weighed close to 160lb. I am telling you this so that you trust what I am about to tell you. Your weight is not as important as what your weight is made up of. For example if you weighed 145 lbs but you were ripped that would be better than weighing 135 lb and being fat. What you should focus on doing is eating healthy. Be sure to eat enough food so that your body is able to feed your muscles. Many people will under eat trying to lose weight. They will succeed in short, but in long they will always fail. You see if you don't eat enough nutrients your body will go into starvation mode. From that point on your body will begin to eat your muscle, instead of burning your fat. As time passes on this will have caused you to lose lots of lean muscle mass. In all weight loss plans, the diet is the main focus. Weight lifting and cardio are vital components. But it is all going to boil down to what you shove in your mouth. Your weight lifting regime program should look something like 3-4 days a week in the gym. Each time you go to the gym, you are on a serious mission. Make sure that you first warm up for about 10 minutes. Once your body is nice and warm you can get started. The key to burning the most fat with weight lifting is to make sure you push your body to new limits each time you hit the gym floor. I prefer that you do circuits or mini-circuits. A circuit is simply going from one exercise to the next with little or no brake in-between sets. A circuit can contain as little as 2 to as many as 12 exercises. When ever doing circuits be sure that your exercises don't overlap each other. What I mean by that is be sure that you don't work the same muscle group two times in a row. Give your muscles a rest before you work them again. Your cardio program should ONLY be high intensity intervals. This will be done only after you have completed your weight training program for the day. Intervals will look something like this: 1 minutes full speed followed by 2 minutes at a much slower speed. You could also do 30 seconds at full speed followed by 1 minute at a slower speed. To be honest with you, you can pick any amount of time to go full speed and follow it by a slower speed that is twice as long as your fast speed.
